Milam Award for Best Comment as well as the Accomplished Research Award. Wrote both a Comment and a Note for publication in that journal. Summer associate with Holland & Knight and Dean Mead law firms in Orlando, Florida. Took classes at the University of Montana College of  Law and was the recipient of the Excellence for the Future Award in Alternate Dispute Resolution.

Worked as a crew member on a commercial fishing boat out of Dillingham, Alaska. Have traveled to all states, most provinces, Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, and various countries in Africa. Was privileged to conduct a video interview with His Excellency Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, who became the first president of independent Zambia in 1964 and continued to lead that country until 1997. He was one of the strongest opponents of apartheid and later spoke at the the funeral of Nelson Mandela.
